Systeme.io Free Plan Review (2026): What You Actually Get for £0
Disclosure: this site is reader-supported. Some links below are affiliate links — if you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend tools we have actually used.
Most "free plans" in marketing software are 14-day trials wearing a disguise. Systeme.io's free plan is the rare exception: it never expires, doesn't ask for a card, and includes things competitors charge £50+/month for.
We run real funnels on it. Here's exactly what you get, where the walls are, and who should (and shouldn't) use it.
What the free plan includes in 2026
| Feature | Free plan limit |
|---|---|
| Contacts (email subscribers) | 2,000 |
| Emails sent | Unlimited |
| Sales funnels | 3 (15 steps total) |
| Blog | 1 |
| Online course | 1 |
| Custom domain | 1 |
| Your own affiliate programme | 1 |
| File storage | Unlimited |
Read that table again: unlimited email sends to 2,000 contacts. Mailchimp's comparable tier caps you hard; ConvertKit's free tier limits features instead. For a new one-person business, the email allowance alone is the headline.
What it feels like to use
The funnel builder is drag-and-drop and noticeably less cluttered than ClickFunnels. You pick a template (opt-in page → thank-you page is the classic two-step), swap the text, connect your domain, done. The first funnel takes maybe an hour; the second one takes ten minutes.
The email automation is rule-based: "when someone subscribes to form X, start sequence Y." That covers 90% of what a small list needs — welcome sequences, lead-magnet delivery, basic tagging.
The real limitations
- 2,000 contacts arrives faster than you think. If your lead magnet works, you'll hit it in months. The Startup upgrade ($17/mo for 5,000 contacts) is cheap, but it's coming eventually.
- 3 funnels is fine until you start testing. A/B testing different lead magnets eats funnel slots quickly.
- Email templates are basic. Functional, deliverable, but you won't win design awards. (For plain-text style emails — which convert better anyway — this doesn't matter.)
- No advanced automation branching on free. Multi-path "if clicked X then Y else Z" logic needs a paid tier.
Who it's for
- Starting an email list from zero → ideal. Genuinely zero cost until 2,000 subscribers, at which point you have revenue anyway.
- Selling one digital product or service → ideal. Funnel + checkout + email in one login.
- Running an established 10k-subscriber list → no, go straight to a paid tier or a dedicated ESP.
Verdict: 9/10 for starters
It's the only tool we recommend where "start free" isn't a trick. The free plan is a complete system: landing pages, unlimited email, a blog and a course platform. The upgrade path is among the cheapest in the industry when you outgrow it.
